Etymologie
Benannt nach dem jamaikanischen Magistrat und Amateur-Naturforscher Richard Hill (1795-1872), „einem Gentleman, dessen wissenschaftliche Errungenschaften nur durch seine urbanen Manieren und seinen wahrhaft schätzbaren Charakter erreicht werden“. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)

Westatlantik: Nordosten Floridas (USA) und Bahamas bis Brasilien; Ostatlantik: Guinea bis Angola.
