Etymologie
Eurys (= breit); pleuron (= Rippe), bezogen auf ausgedehnte, plattenförmige Parapophysen (Parapophyse = Fortsatz auf der Unterseite von Wirbeln) an Brustwirbeln, ein sexuell dimorphes Merkmal von Männchen dieser Gattung. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
