Typusfundort: Soufriere, Dominica, 15.22°, -61.37° (Karte), 3 m Tiefe.
Etymologie
Lancea (= Lanze oder Speer); bezieht sich auf die Ähnlichkeit der rot-über-weißen Bänder an der Rückenflosse mit dem rot-über-weißen Speerbanner, das Lancer-Kavallerieregimenter in europäischen (und osmanischen) Armeen im Laufe der Jahrhunderte und bis heute in der britischen und indischen Armee getragen haben.
Verbreitung
Karibik: beschränkt auf die Windward-Kette der Kleinen Antillen, von Dominica südlich nach Grenada und Tobago.
