Typusfundort: Fischereihafen Donggang, Pingtung, SW Taiwan, nördliches Südchinesisches Meer, ca. 300 m Tiefe.
Etymologie
Der spezifische Name ist abgeleitet von dem historischen Namen von Taiwan, Formosa, abgeleitet von dem lateinischen formosus, was schön bedeutet.
Verbreitung
Bekannt von den Typexemplaren, die aus Dong-gang, Südwesttaiwan (nördliches Südchinesisches Meer) durch Grundschleppnetz in Tiefen von 200-300 Metern entnommen wurden.
