Etymologie

Dient als als Typusart der Gattung.

Verbreitung

Küsteneinzugsgebiete von Kamerun bis zur Republik Kongo. Auch aus dem Einzugsgebiet des Kongo-Flusses gemeldet (Dja-Fluss, mittleres Kongo-Einzugsgebiet), aber nach Angaben der Autoren ein Endemit von Unter-Guinea.
