Etymologie
Sex (= sechs); fasciatus (= gebändert), bezieht sich auf 6-7 breite schwärzliche vertikale Streifen auf dem Körper. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
Verbreitung
Demokratische Republik Kongo: weit verbreitet im Kongobecken, vom unteren Kongo bis zum oberen Lualaba, fehlt aber im Luapula-Moero. Auch im Tanganjikasee-Becken.
IUCN Status
Status: Stand 27.9.2022:LC Least Concern (nicht gefährdet)
