Etymologie
Apogon, bezieht sich auf die allgemeine Ähnlichkeit der Körperform mit einigen Kardinalfischen der Gattung Apogon; der Name "bedeutet streng genommen 'ohne Barteln', was zwar stimmt, aber nicht wirklich relevant ist". (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
