Typusfundort: 11 Orte im Atlantik und im Indischen Ozean.
Etymologie
.
Verbreitung
Ostatlantik: zwischen 30°N und etwa 19°N und zwischen 7°N und 11°S (ungewöhnlich in der mauretanischen Region aufsteigenden Tiefenwassers). Westatlantik: USA im Golfstrom bis nach Brasilien. Indischer Ozean: zwischen 7°N und 23°S; Agulhas Strom. Westpazifik: bis 35°N in Kuroshio und Tushima. Ostpazifik: zwischen 8° und 12°S.
