Etymologie
Benannt zu Ehren von [[Rohan Pethiyagoda|]] (*1955) für seine umfangreichen Arbeiten über die Süßwasserfische Indiens und Sri Lankas. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)

Indien: südliche Western Ghats.

Gefahren für diese Art: Das Gebiet, aus dem Dawkinsia rohani gemeldet wird, weist mehrere Bedrohungen auf, darunter Stadtentwicklung, Tourismus, invasive Arten, landwirtschaftliche Verschmutzung und Überfischung.
