Typusfundort: Zamboanga, Philippinen.
Etymologie
Der Name zamboangae bestätigt die Typuslokalität dieser Art, Zamboanga auf den Philippinen.
Verbreitung
Zuverlässige Vorkommensnachweise reichen von Wabuka im südlichen Honshu, Japan und Taiwan, durch die Philippinen nach Lombok und Raja Ampat, Indonesien, Timor Leste und Nordwest-Australien südlich von Rowley Shoals. Die Art wird von seewärtigen Riff-Abhängen und Geröllböden in Tiefen von 20-140 m berichtet.
IUCN Status
Status: Stand 14.09.2017: LC Least Concern (nicht gefährdet)
Grund für die Gefährdungseinstufung: Keine Gefährdungsgründe bekannt. Allerdings wird die Art beim Leinenfischen als Beifang erbeutet und ist möglicherweise vom Dynamitfischen in den Philippinen und Indonesien betroffen.
