Etymologie

Etymologie nicht erklärt, vielleicht von chiro (von cheiros = Hand), Anspielung nicht ersichtlich; lophis (= Kamm), bezieht sich möglicherweise auf die dichte Ansammlung von Zirren auf dem Kopf von Chirolophis yarellii (= Chirolophis ascanii). (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
