Typusfundort: nördliche Küste Ägyptens, 31°32’N, 30°25’E (Karte).
Etymologie
Benannt nach der dunkelblauen Färbung der Seiten des Fisches.
Verbreitung
Bisher nur von der Mittelmeerküste Ägyptens, bei Rashid, bekannt.
