Typusfundort: Brasilien, Bundesstaat Rondônia, Vilhena, Igarapé Piracolina, Becken des Rio Ji‑Paraná (oder Machado), Rio Madeira Einzug, ca. 6 km westlich von Vilhena, nähe des Highways BR‑364, bei Chapada dos Parecis, 12°43'33"S, 60°11'34"W (Karte).
Etymologie
Clathratus (= vergittert, abgeschirmt oder netzförmig), in Anspielung auf das netzartige Farbmuster der Flanken.
Verbreitung
Brasilien: Quellgebiete der Becken des Rio Ji‑Paraná (oder Machado) und des Rio Roosevelt, beide gehören zum oberen Madeira-System, die den Nordhang des Chapada dos Parecis entwässern, in der Nähe von Vilhena, Bundesstaat Rondônia.
