Etymologie

Cato (= niedrig oder untergeordnet); notos (= hinten), bezieht sich vermutlich auf die erste Rückenflosse von Etheostoma flabellare lineolatum, die "viel niedriger als die zweite" ist. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
