Holotypus: MCSNV IGVR71187; gut erhaltenes komplettes Skelett in einer einzigen Platte.
Typusfundort und Schicht: Monte Bolca, Höhle von Pesciara; Frühes Eozän, spätes Ypresisches, mittleres Cuisian, SBZ 11, Alveolina dainelli Zone, ungefähr 50 Millionen Jahre alt.
Etymologie
Der Artname stammt aus vom lateinischen quasi (= wie); und von der gobioiden Gattung Gobius.
