Etymologie
Atro- (= schwarz); pous (= Fuß), bezieht sich auf die große schwarze Bauchflosse (im Text atropos und auf der Tafel und im Index atropus geschrieben). (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
Verbreitung
Indo-Westpazifik: Persischer Golf und Golf von Oman östlich bis zu den Philippinen, nördlich bis zum südlichen Japan und den Ogasawara-Inseln.
IUCN Status
Status: Stand 27.1.2022:LC Least Concern (nicht gefährdet)
Gefahren für diese Art: Obwohl dieser Art nachgestellt wird, wird dies global derzeit nicht als große Bedrohung angesehen.
