Etymologie
Zonata (= gebändert), bezieht sich auf fünf undeutliche Streifen quer über den Rücken vor der Rückenflosse und drei ähnliche Streifen dahinter. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
Verbreitung
Brasilien: Einzugsgebiet des Rio Ribeira de Iguape entlang der Teileinzugsgebiete des Betari und des Iporanga.
