Etymologie
Tautonym mit Chimaera callorynchus Linnaeus, 1758 (aber unnötigerweise von -rynchus zu -rhinchus emendiert: callum (= harte Haut); rhynchus (= Schnauze), bezieht sich auf den eigentümlichen hakenförmigen Rüssel. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
