Etymologie
Herald nannte es einen "geprägten Namen, der als Bryx, Brycis dekliniert werden soll" (Bryx kann "aus der Tiefe" bedeuten, aber das scheint nicht auf die Typusart Bryx veleronis zuzutreffen, die in einer Tiefe von 27,4-36,5 m gesammelt wurde). (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
