Etymologie
Benannt zu Ehren von Mabel Manjaji-Matsumoto, University of Malaysia Sabah, für ihren Beitrag zur Taxonomie der Peitschenrochen; sie war die erste Person, die ein einzigartiges Merkmal der Schwanzfärbung dieser Art identifizierte. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
