Benannt zu Ehren von Adam Ben-Tuvia (1919-1999), Hebräische Universität Jerusalem, der das Typusexemplar von Rhabdamia nigrimentum zur Verfügung stellte und Smiths Einladung, ihn zu beschreiben, ablehnte; ichthys (= Fisch). (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
