Typusfundort: Jan Doessels River, Olifants River System, Kap-Provinz, Südafrika.
Etymologie
Von calidus (= heiß), bezieht sich auf die Helligkeit der roten Flecken auf den Flossen und die Sommerhitze des Olifants River Valley (Südafrika), der Typuslokalität. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
