Typusfundort: Río Curamoni, Canal de Casiquiare, Venezuela.
Etymologie
Benannt zu Ehren von Böhlkes Ehefrau Eugenia (1929-2001), selbst eine Ichthyologin. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
