Etymologie
Leptos (= dünn); aspis (= Schild), Anspielung unklar, bezieht sich vielleicht auf den dreieckigen Hinterhauptfortsatz, der an der Basis eher länger als breit ist. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
Verbreitung
Westpazifik: Nordaustralien und zentrales, südliches Neuguinea.
