Etymologie
Von "Pak wak" (= weißer Umberfisch), seinem lokalen Namen in Hongkong, Südchinesisches Meer, dem Typusfundort.
Verbreitung
Östlicher Indischer Ozean, westlicher Pazifik: Südindonesien bis Golf von Thailand, nördlich bis Vietnam, Südchina und Taiwan.

Status: Stand 6.5.2022:LC Least Concern (nicht gefährdet)
