Etymologie
Benannt nach Baetis, dem römischen Namen des Guadalquivir-Flusstals in Spanien, wo dieser Killifisch endemisch ist. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
Verbreitung
Spanien: entlang der Atlantikküste zwischen Huelva und dem Golf von Cadiz, bekannt von 9 Fundorten (in einem von ihnen bereits ausgestorben).

EN Endangered (stark gefährdet) Mögliche Gefahren für diese Art: Zerstörung des Lebensraums und Wasserverschmutzung (Minenunfall 1998 in Coto Donana), wiederholte Dürre und Einführung exotischer Fischarten: Gambusia holbrooki und Fundulus heteroclitus sowie des Sumpfkrebses Procambarus clarkii. |
