Typusfundort: Eilat, Golf von Aqaba, Rotes Meer, Israel, 300 m Tiefe.
Etymologie
Der Artname ergibt sich aus dem lateinischen neglectus (= übersehen), und bezieht sich auf die Tatsache, dass die Spezies für eine lange Zeit als Acropoma japonicum identifiziert worden war.
Verbreitung
Typusexemplare wurden im Golf von Aqaba, am nördlichen Ende des Roten Meeres, in Tiefen von 200–570 m gesammelt.
