Etymologie
Benannt zu Ehren von Alfreda Mitchell Bingham (1874-1967), Erbin des Tiffany-Schmuckvermögens und Ehefrau des Entdeckers und Politikers Hiram Bingham [siehe Ceratobranchia binghami]), für ihr Interesse an der Naturgeschichte Perus und ihre "materielle Unterstützung bei der Ermöglichung einer Expedition zum Urubamba".
