Typusfundort und -schicht: Kenya, Tugen Hills, Ngorora Becken, Ngorora Formation, Member E, Lokalität Waril, 0°40′56.21″N, 35°43′7.43″E (Karte), ca. 9–10 Millionen Jahre.
Etymologie
Kombinert aus den lateinischen Wörtern unus (= eins) und cuspis (= Spitze), um das auffällige Gebiss des Kiefers hervorzuheben.
Verbreitung
Miozän: Kenia.
