Etymologie
Benannt zu Ehren von Brett Woodward (Johnson City, Tennessee, USA), einem Geologen des Bundesstaates Tennessee, der die Fossilien von Kemp Clay eingehend untersucht und als erster die Typusexemplare untersucht hat.
Verbreitung
Spätes Maastrichtium: Texas.
