Etymologie
Verweist auf das Tortonium, die erdgeschichtliche Epoche, in der der Holotypus dieser Art gelebt hat.
Verbreitung
Mittleres Miozän bis frühes Pliozän: Europa: Belgien, Dänemark, Deutschland, Frankreich, Malta.
