Typusfundort und -schicht: Souar-Fortuna-Formationen in Djebel el Kébar, Weiler Amamria in der Nähe des Dorfes Soug-Jedid (Gemeinde Sidi Bouzid), Tunesien; Mittleres Eozän (Mittleres Bartonium).
Etymologie
Abgeleitet von der lateinischen Wort lacuna (= Lagune), die diese Arten bevorzugt frequentiert hatte.
