Typusfundort und -schicht: Souar-Fortuna-Formationen in Djebel el Kébar, Weiler Amamria in der Nähe des Dorfes Soug-Jedid (Gemeinde Sidi Bouzid), Tunesien; Mittleres Eozän (Mittleres Bartonium).
Etymologie
Abgeleitet aus den lateinischen Worten aspero und dentulus, was "rauhe kleine Zähne" bedeutet.
