Typusfundort: Sambesi River, bei Tette, Mosambik.
Etymologie
Benannt nach dem Land in dem die Typusexemplare gefangen wurden.
Verbreitung
Südöstliches Afrika.
IUCN Status
Status: Stand 29.01.2018: LC Least Concern (nicht gefährdet)
Grund für die Gefährdungseinstufung: Als kommerzielle Art hat sie eine geringe Bedeutung, aber sie ist möglicherweise durch Überfischung bedroht. Sie ist in Teilen des mittleren Sambesi in Simbabwe zurückgegangen, wahrscheinlich durch die Auswirkungen der Eindämmung.
