Typusfundort: DR Congo: Kongo Fluss in der Nähe von Inga, ein paar Kilometer stromaufwärts und auf der gegenüberliegenden Seite des Flusses vom Inga Staudamm; 5°27'30"S, 13°36'00"E (Karte).
Etymologie
Die Art ist nach ihrer Typuslokalität in der Nähe von Inga, unterer Kongo, benannt.
Verbreitung
Distichodus ingae ist derzeit nur von der Typuslokalität Inga, am unteren Kongo, DR Congo, bekannt.
