Etymologie

Patronym nicht identifiziert, vermutlich zu Ehren des Ichthyologen Toshiji Kamohara (1901-1972), Universität Kochi, der 1938 Spicomacrurus kuronumai beschrieb. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)

Verbreitung

Japan und Taiwan: Bekannt von der Pazifikküste Japans nach Norden bis zur Oshika-Halbinsel (38.32°N), dem Okinawa-Trog und östlich der Insel Tsushima in Tiefen von 110–450 m. Einer der am häufigsten vorkommenden Coelorinchus in Südjapan, aber selten im Osten der Boso-Halbinsel (139.89°E).
