Benant zu Ehren des Hydrobiologen und Biogeographen Francis Dov Por (1927-2014), Hebräische Universität Jerusalem, für seinen Beitrag auf dem Gebiet der lessepsischen Migration von Organismen (zu denen diese Meerbarbe gehört). (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)

Westlicher Indischer Ozean: Rotes Meer bis Oman, Madagaskar, Südafrika, östliches Mittelmeer (über den Suezkanal).
