Typusfundort: Philippinisches Meer, Südjapan, Präfektur Kagoshima, Osumi-Inseln, Tanega-Shima-Insel, Kumage-Kanone, Nakatane, vor Kumano, 30°28.13’N, 130°58.32’E (Karte), 25 m Tiefe.
Etymologie
Elongatus (= länglich), bezieht sich auf den länglichen, sehr flachen Körper und Kopf dieser Art.
Verbreitung
Japan: bisher nur von vor der Insel Tanega-Shima bekannt.
