Typusfundorte: Aktash (12600 Fuß), wo das Wasser vom Ak-su zum Oxus fließt; Yankihissar (4320 Fuß), wo Flüsse zum Yarkand River fließen.

Etymologie

Tenuis (= dünn), bezogen auf einen länglicheren Körper im Vergleich zu Triplophysa ladacensis. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
