Typusfundort: Inlé See, südlicher Shan Staat, 20°35'N, 96°57'E (Karte)), Myanmar, 2915 Fuss ü.d.M.
Etymologie
Benannt nach dem Land der Typuslokalität: Burma (heute Myanmar).
Verbreitung
Diese Art wurde aus dem Inlé-See beschrieben, wurde aber nach ihrer Beschreibung von dort nicht mehr erfasst. Es ist möglich, dass die Fische in den Bächen zu finden sind, die in den See münden, oder an anderer Stelle im Einzug des Salween Rivers.
