Etymologie
Benannt zu Ehren des amerikanischen Geologen John Casper Branner (1950-1922), der Haseman zu Beginn seiner „langen Reise“ nach Mittelsüdamerika „freundlich unterstützte“. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)

Argentinien u. Brasilien: Becken des Rio Iguaçu.
