Etymologie
Rhamdia ist ein offensichtlicher Rechtschreib- oder Druckfehler von Nhamdiâ (von dem Marcgrave im Jahr 1648 berichtet), einer orthographischen Variante von Jandiá, dem Tupí-Guaraní-Namen für Rhamdia quelen. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
