Etymologie
Benannt nach der ethnischen Gruppe der Xavante, die in der Serra do Roncador und im mittleren Rio Araguaia, Mato Grosso, Brasilien, lebt, wo diese Art endemisch zu sein scheint. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
