Etymologie
Benannt in Erinnerung an Allan George Ramsay (1878-1903), Chefingenieur der Scotia, von der Typusexemplare während der Scottish National Antarctic Expedition (1902-1904) gesammelt wurden; er starb an Herzproblemen in der Scotia Bay, Süd-Orkney-Inseln, Südpolarmeer. Verbreitung
Südwestatlantik: beschränkt auf den patagonischen Schelf.

Status: Stand 4.10.2022: DD Data Deficient (ungenügende Datengrundlage)
Gefahren für diese Art: Überfischung ist die potenzielle Hauptbedrohung. Diese Art wächst relativ langsam, wird spät geschlechtsreif und hat eine relativ niedrige Fruchtbarkeit, was dazu führen kann, dass sie bei starkem fischereilichen Druck anfällig für Rückgänge ist.
