Typusfundort: Golf von Mexiko, 28°38’3"N, 85°52’3"W (Karte), Albatross: Station 2401, 260 m Tiefe.
Etymologie

Verbreitung
Parascombrops spinosus ist weit verbreitet im tropischen und subtropischen westlichen Atlantik zwischen 376 und 466 m Tiefe, aber scheint nicht überall häufig zu sein.
