Typusfundort: Region Tanga, 20 Meilen nördlich Tanga, Tansania, 4.802°S, 39.159°O.
Etymologie
Aus dem Lateinischen propinquus, benachbart, sich auf das nahe Vorkommen zu Pantanodon podoxys beziehend.
Verbreitung
Lagunen und Sümpfe im Küstenbereich Tansanias in der Region Tanga.
