Typusfundort: Aurora, East Luzon, Philippines, 15.96°N, 121.78°E, (Karte), aus 307-292 m Tiefe.
Etymologie
Benannt nach dem Direktor des Bureau of Fisheries und Aquatic Resources (Philippinen), Malcolm Sarmiento, dessen Unterstützung die Erforschung der Tiefsee-Fauna um die Philippinen möglich machte.
