Etymologie
Nigro (= schwarz); marginatus (= mit einem Rand versehen), bezieht sich auf den auffälligen inneren Oberkieferstreifen dieser Art.
Verbreitung
Rotes Meer; Indo-Westpazifik: Südliches Afrika, Sansibar, Aldabra, Golf von Oman, Persischer Golf, Rotes Meer, Indien, Thailand, Vietnam und Malaysia auf Sand-/Rieselböden in 2-17 m.
IUCN Status
Status: Stand 14.04.2023:LC Least Concern (nicht gefährdet)
