Etymologie
Potamos (= Fluss); philos (= lieb haben oder lieben), in Anlehnung an seinen fluviatilen Lebensraum. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
Verbreitung
China und Vietnam: Mittleres und unteres Yangtze-Becken, Einzugsgebiete des Qiantangjiang und des Minjiang. Korea (siehe Chae, 1999).
