Typusfundort: Straße B163, 40 km südwestlich von Sengerema in Richtung Geita, 17 km südwestlich von Sima, 67 km südwestlich der Anlegestelle der Karumo Fähre, Tansania.
Etymologie
Benannt zu Ehren von Paul H. Skelton (* 1948), emeritierter Direktor des Südafrikanischen Instituts für aquatische Biodiversität, für sein „Engagement für die Wissenschaft der Ichthyologie“ und seine „großen Beiträge zur Erforschung und Dokumentation afrikanischer Süßwasserfische und zur Biodiversität".
